Pouring Draught Beer

To properly pour a draught beer, follow these steps:

  • Manipulate the handle from the base, not the top. You should do this as it gives you better control and requires less force (meaning less likelihood of internal breakage)
  • When pouring keg beer, open the tap all the way or close it completely
  • Hold the glass in one hand and manipulate the tap with the other. Take care not to touch the glass to the tap and never allow beer or foam in the glass to come into contact with the tap
  • Hold the glass at a 45° angle and begin pouring down the side of the glass
  • When the glass is about two-thirds full, shift the glass so that you are pouring directly down the middle of the glass
